Revealing Truth in Broken Relationships Within the books, Love is the Seed: Teachings from the Spirit World and The Three Supreme Gifts: A Practical Approach to Self-Mastery and to Transforming Your Life Here and Now, the topic of “love-given” is spoken of often. The reason is because this energy of “love-given” relates to all of creation, it relates to you as soul and it relates to that unconditional love that we all seek. This love is healing when fully understood. I want to share the true story of two friends, Deb and Katie, as an example. It is one of my favorite stories that illustrates what happens when we implement this energy of “love-given” in our lives. Deb and Katie had been great friends for many years, when their friendship suddenly ended after an argument. There came a point where they were temporarily going in different life directions, which caused a riff and they no longer spoke. When the argument first happened, Deb—as for most of us, I imagine—had all kinds of feelings from resentment, hurt, needing to be better and live a perfect life to show Katie that she was ok without the friendship. Yet, in reality, Deb lost sleep, lost weight and lost a bit of self-confidence in future relationships. She shared that she replayed their last conversation over and over again within her mind.
There was one thing that Deb ignored for a long time after the argument. And that one thing was: She loved her friendship with Katie. That was the simple truth. All throughout the friendship, Deb did things that she knew would make her friend feel special… because really, for her, Katie was special. Despite how Katie felt about Deb or what she said about her in the years that followed, Deb realized at some point that no matter what her friend said or did, she loved their friendship and missed it. Deb realized that she could still care about and show kindness and compassion toward Katie even if Katie did not return the feelings. That one realization liberated Deb in ways that shifted her whole perspective on her life. Deb did not just understand what this idea of “love-given” meant, but she realized how to live in this energy—embody this energy—when it came to her friendship with Katie. “Love-given” set her free. She felt what it meant to demonstrate love without expecting anything in return. Deb was free from the negative thoughts and eager expectations that she had toward Katie. Free from needing to prove herself, free of resentment, free of heartache, and free of any anger she was holding onto. She was able to love Katie without requiring anything in return. Deb realized that she could show genuine kindness, friendliness and compassion, even if she knew that at the time it would not be returned. Deb realized that she had control over one thing: how she chose to view Katie and what happened between them. Deb realized it was not serving her to think negative thoughts or hold onto resentment. She realized, as stated in Love is the Seed: Teachings from the Spirit World, “a love given” is really “a love received.” By giving in a loving way, or at least thinking in a loving way about and toward Katie, she could and would align herself with something “greater.” It not only benefited her, but it also benefited Katie and the future relationship they turned out to have together years later. That something greater is that divine energy that I often speak about that moves throughout life. When you align yourself with this energy, everything in, through and extended out from you begin to change for the better. I love sharing this story because it illustrates how the teachings from Spirit, from God, can manifest in your life. How small subtle realizations given within the sessions of Love is the Seed: Teachings from the Spirit World and defined in detail in The Three Supreme Gifts: A Practical Approach to Self-Mastery and to Transforming Your Life Here and Now can create significant shifts in your life. The teachings within the two books will manifest in various ways in your life – from understanding your forged love, thought and free will, to understanding the bigger picture of your soul and your soul’s relationship to your personality through which you express yourself in this life, to your relationship to the Divine within yourself and each with which you come in contact. The energy that we put into our lives and give out to others goes far beyond just us.
